HOUSTON — Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen suffered a scary-looking hit during Thursday night's loss to the Houston Texans that briefly left his left shoulder numb. The incident happened early in the game when Allen came down hard on his left side after a sack.

Team trainers tended to Allen on the sideline and he later returned to the game. In his postgame comments Allen said the numbness subsided quickly and that he felt okay after the play. The night, however, was rough for the Bills' offense overall: Houston's defense recorded eight sacks on Allen and forced two interceptions, helping the Texans secure a 23–19 win.

The result drops Buffalo to 7–4 on the season and raises short-term concerns about the team’s injury situation and pass protection. Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard also left the game with an elbow injury and the team will evaluate several players in the coming days.
